Barça Ready for First Match at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday

Barça revealed they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league over two years following their departure to allow renovations to start.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. The club said completed upgrades featured a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.

Preparatory Events

Barcelona held an open training session on the home pitch earlier this month. Officials stated approval is being pursued by UEFA to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt next month in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place in the temporary ground.
